A day pass for the Caltrain—PART 1
Today I went to San Francisco..VIA Caltrain. I left my house at 7:33AM and boarded the Caltrain to San Francisco after that I had to stop in Downtown San Jose, because I needed to get onto another train in order to get my stop, so I got off at the Amtrak Station and waited 20 mins for my train to come. Finally the train left at around 8:22 Am….FINALLLY I was on my way to San Francisco, I knew that I still had 2 more hours to killl, but hey atleast I was not changing trains anymore..so after that I lookd out the window passing all the familiar cities that i have driven through in the past and then finally at 9:39AM the train was stopping at 22nd street yay! this was my stop! I got off and hurried up the stairs. I took the directions I got off google maps out of my purse and tried to guide myself to San Francisco General Hospital…k go up 22nd street..check..ok make a rt on Cesar Chavez Blvd..wait a minute 22nd just became a dead end and I am now on Texas St…oh great and to top it off it was steep ass rd in front of me!!!
I huffed and puffed and dragged myself up the steep road..finally I made it to the top I looked to my right and saw the ocean, but I knew I had to travel in the opposite direction. I decided to stop at a local dry cleaning place to ask where exactly is San Francisco General Hospital, since google maps had failed me..I needed directions and I had to be at my interview by 1030Am…I walked in and asked the lady where the hospital was, she was kind and told me that I could not walk there it was too far, but that I should be able to take the bus there. I thanked her and went to the bus stop and waited patiently and nervously for the bus. I was scared because I really needed to be at my interview and I had no clue when the bus was going to come or how far away I was from the hospital..after waiting what seemed an eternity, but was actually like 15 mins..Line 48 came yay!! I hopped on, but I did not have the correct change to pay my fare..KRAPPPP, but the bus driver was nice enough to still let me stay on….
I waited and kept on checking the streets to see if we had passed or came close to Portero Avenue because that was where the hospital was at. I kept on looking and then finally 6 mins later I was SFGH!! It is one hugeee hospital, I hopped off the bus, but gave the bus driver a few cents I found in my purse and he gave me a ticket stub and I thanked him. I had made it to SFGH with a lot of time to spare…so I went in and cleaned myself up and then I took the elevator to my interview.
W hen I got into the office, I was confused it was a very busy clinic and it seemed like I came during a mobfest or something. I went into the back and told the lady I was here for an interview and they were confused because no one knew that I was coming. Apparently I had thought my interview was today because the correspondant had said see you tomarrow, but it was an error because earlier she had wrote August 3rd, but whatever I was confused, but it also made me realize that I don’t really like the position because it takes a really long time to get there and its a weird area, and for some reason SFGH scares me…maybe its the trauma unit I dunno but no thanks..so yea I walk out and I see a little garden, then I realize its a part of the hospital and there is a random RED fence/gate around the entrance of SFGH, but its locked up, but there is a side entrance you can come in from..jus random..so after that i decided…okie i shall go shopping or head over to Embarcader..enough of the Portero District
